Job Purpose/Role

This role is to support the Regional Compliance Function in fulfilling its tasks relating to governance, risk management, oversight, and monitoring in relation to Asia Pacific Region Operating Entities (AZAP OEs), as well as Regional Office in Singapore (AZAP). It includes providing advice, support and guidance on compliance matters and escalated topics with focus on risk assessment, quality assurance, trainings, reporting and monitoring, as well as follow-up to ensure timely and effective mitigation of relevant compliance risks and issues.


Key Responsibility 

•    Coordinate the implementation of various internal and external compliance programs and requirements in AZAP OEs;
•    Prepare and lead OE compliance and targeted reviews as part of the Compliance Quality Assurance Program;
•    Interface and closely cooperate with various stakeholders incl. key control functions;
•    Develop and conduct training on relevant compliance programs and risks to local compliance community, as well as relevant business functions; 
•    Provide business-oriented compliance advice to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations; Ensure sharing of best practices and lessons learnt across the region;
•    Prepare and provide regular reports to Senior management of AZAP and Group Compliance on compliance risks and trends;
•    Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Singapore and the region.


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

•    Post-graduate degree / master’s degree (Law degree is a plus)

•    5-7 years work experience in a compliance/risk department of a major international financial services company and experience in compliance management;

•    Insurance / banking / regulatory work experience and/or compliance work experience is an advantage;
•    International working experience is an advantage
•    As this role will be required to handle counterparts in North Asia such as China and Taiwan, being able to speak the language will be a great advantage. Fluent verbal and written English and Chinese are required; 
•    Strong analytical problem solving, communication and presentation skills; 
•    Result oriented – focus on outcome without compromising on risks and quality;
•    Proven team player and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds, functions, and cultures.
