What you do

Allianz Partners (AzP) is the leading company for B2B2C solutions within Allianz, with a wide variety of insurance and service offerings within the areas of Mobility & Assistance, Travel, and International Health. 
The Underwriting Governance team is part of the CUO-Area within Allianz Partners. The main responsibility is to define rules & cornerstones for the Product & Underwriting population located around the world while fostering Cross-LoB solutions, collaboration, and alignment. Reporting to the Head of Underwriting Governance, in this role you will be pivotal in shaping and executing AzP and LoB strategy.  
Underwriting Governance team translates various requirements (including Allianz Group, AzP CEO, as well as external (legal and regulatory) requirements) into tangible rules and recommendations for AzP. Particular focus in the coming years will be shift to an analytical portfolio management view, while harmonizing processes in the different LoB’s and bringing various internal stakeholders onboard. 
We are currently looking for two Underwriting Governance Experts one with a more technical/project management background and the other with an underwriting-governance/legal background.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the further development of Product & Underwriting Control & Governance Framework while interacting with various international, internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Audit, Risk, Actuarial, corporate Allianz SE headquarter experts) 
  • Interact with and challenge an underwriting technically experienced Product & Underwriting team & ensuring necessary levels of quality & performance in various areas (e.g. Underwriting file reviews, Case underwriting, productivity measurement)
  • Be the contact person for governance-related enquiries and support solutions in an end-to-end manner 
  • Perform Governance assessment for business referrals and provide support and guidance to the various business stakeholders
  • Applying Governance expertise in all related (underwriting) discussions and assessments, including Reviews and Audits and being the main liaison for all sanctions related discussions
  • Bringing together the expertise of the Product and Underwriting team and Business Units / LoB`s to improve the adequacy and effectiveness of Governance processes.

and/or

  • Prepare management briefings, analyses, and presentations relating to various Cross-LoB topics (e.g. Underwriting committee, Quarterly business reviews)
  • Independently establish professional end-to-end reporting while interacting with various international, internal stakeholders across Allianz group’s Operating Entities (OE’s) 
  • Develope & automate mechanisms that allow tracking / automatic report generation based on stakeholder’s requirements
     


What you bring

  • 5+ years of practical experience within Insurance, Finance or Consulting industry, ideally within Product & Underwriting, Project Management or Governance 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally within Business Administration, Finance & Controlling, Actuarial, or a related field
  • Good understanding of internal controls system, processes and methodology. Regulatory and legal knowledge advantageous
  • Exposure to stakeholder management preferably in a global set-up

and/or

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to quickly translate requirements into outputs (visual reports, dashboards, etc.) that meet business needs, Consulting experience advantageous 
  • Strong (agile) project management and organizational skills 
  • Ability to take initiative and resolve problems with a high degree of autonomy
  • Ability steer and manage topics/initiatives with a cross-functional / LoB view
  • Experience working independently in a global, digital environment with strong IT user skills (in particular Microsoft Office as well as Salesforce)
  • Fluent business English (verbal and in writing)
