Who will you be joining?


Group Strategy and Portfolio Management (GSPM) is responsible for the development of Allianz Group's strategy and its direction, as well as the active management of our global business portfolio. As such, GSPM identifies and drives key strategic topics, defines strategic targets, and prepares strategy discussions and decisions at Board level. The team sets objectives and priorities for group-wide strategic projects, manages the global business portfolio and identifies and initiates potential non-organic actions. Based on periodic high-quality local bench markings, GSPM drives for maximum value creation in each of our businesses.

 

You will be working in a cross-functional team and in close collaboration with a broad set of colleagues from relevant departments at head office, the business divisions, OEs as well as in close contact with the Board of Management.

 

The position is based in Munich.

 

 

How can you make an impact?

 

You will:

  • Shape content & structure of annual strategic dialogues with Allianz subsidiaries, lead the group-wide strategic dialogue process and participate in top management discussions driving for maximum value creation
  • Support the preparation of Allianz Group’s strategy updates by conducting research on insurance and asset management industry trends, peer group performance as well as consumer and technology trends
  • Preparation of systematic, pro-active M&A screenings (on buy and sell-side); including identification of potential M&A targets as well as strategic fit and financial analyses 
  • Further develop Allianz's strategic benchmarking for top management

 

  

What are you made of?

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent university degree with distinction in corporate finance or economics with spike in quantitative analytics/financial mathematics
  • Very strong quantitative skills, partial / full CFA is an advantage
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), second language a plus
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and Powerpoint        
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in similar roles, including strategy and M&A/valuation 
  • Sound knowledge in at least one of Allianz Groups business segments (Property/Casualty, Life/Health or Asset Management) 
  • Very strong written/oral communication skills, including ability to bring across complex matters and develop compelling story lines
  • Ability to work independently and perform under time pressure with demonstrated drive for excellence
  • Open mindset and team player with the ability to work in cross-functional, international teams
  • Efficient and results/impact-oriented working style, and positive, pragmatic attitude
