Job Purpose/Role
As member of Allianz Direct's Dev Chapter, Dev engineers are responsible for the IT development and operation of the journeys, processes and external integrations required for the AZ Direct platform together with their squads.


Key Responsibilities

  • Code, configure and implement customer journeys, frontends, APIs, backend integrations and continuously update code based on the user stories from backlog as agreed with the Product Owner, without spending time on work outside the backlog
  • Develop frontends, micro services and APIs
  • Manage all resources in version-controlled repositories (incl., code, scripts, configurations, artefacts)
  • Refactor and reuse existing code/modules/functionality
  • Test and release functionality to production (daily)
  • Write fully automated tests (e.g., unit-, functional-, non-functional- and integration testing)
  • Participate rigorously in agile rituals (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospective, peer reviews) and collaborate within and across Squads


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level – at least Bachelor's degree
  • Certifications and/or proven proficiency in one or more programming/ scripting languages and automation tooling
  • Track record of developing high quality software products
  • Working-level knowledge of agile and preferably DevOps (e.g., automating IT operations)
  • Broad understanding of technologies and consumer needs incl. knowledge across stack, technologies and ecosystems
  • Fundamental technical knowledge in containerization, cloud, CI/CD pipeline, log analysis and database
  • Strong knowledge spike in one of the following topics: front end development or back end development


Experience & Key Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude and end2end mindset
  • Curiosity to constantly learn, highly self-motivated and mindset of continuous improvement of the IT service they develop and their way of working
  • End-to-end ownership mindset
  • Teamwork, collaboration skills and interest to work in cross-functional teams
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English are required
  • 4+ years related professional experience
