Job Purpose/Role
The P&C Center of Competence (CoC) within Group Risk ensures excellence in P&C risk modeling and enterprise risk management for the Allianz Group and the Allianz entities. The CoC provides ownership and subject matter expertise for the PC Underwriting risk models, which includes developing Groupwide guidelines and frameworks, governance and support for the internal model as well as the standard risk capital model.
In addition the CoC is the business partner to enhance best practice P&C risk management across the Allianz Group. One key area is the Cat risk management, where we identify and quantify major accumulation risks to assist in the establishment of appropriate risk mitigation and control mechanisms to ensure the financial solvency of Allianz Group.


Key Responsibilities

As Senior Cat Risk Analyst you will:

  • Be the key interface for cat topics to the internal reinsurance function as well as the Allianz entities.
  • Be the key cat risk expert responsible for the internal PC risk model with focus on natural catastrophe risks. This includes developing guidelines and frameworks, assuring consistency with Solvency II, joining discussions with regulators/ auditors and providing guidance/ support to Allianz entities and colleagues from Group Risk
  • Perform validations and special evaluations on catastrophe and reinsurance related topics.
  • Conduct stress tests/ scenario studies on selected topics


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience


  • Master’s degree in natural science or equivalent
  • Fluent in Business English (written and spoken) is mandatory
  • Experience with cat risk models and the ability to develop scenario studies
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Power Point, Excel, Access)


Experience and key skills:

  • Motivation, excellent analytical and communication skills plus the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Role requires deep understanding of methodologies of catastrophe models across regions, perils and vendors (e.g. RMS, AIR)
  • Responsibility for small to medium size projects where expertise from various entities needs to be considered and brought together
  • International working experience and Solvency II knowledge is a plus
