Job Purpose/Role


At AGCS we specialise in offering Energy insurance for the most complex and challenging exposures. With a focus on larger global risk portfolios and major national risks, we offer ‘All Risks’ Property Damage, Business Interruption, Construction, and Delay In Start-up insurance through our global network.


Based in London as part of the Energy and Construction team, you will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalised solutions, as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet Offshore Renewable Energy targets regionally, including global elements. Your responsibilities will also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, supporting the acquisition of new business and retaining existing business.


Key Responsibilities


In this role you will.....

  • Underwrite and evaluate Offshore Renewable Energy exposures (both operational and construction), contributing to the profitable growth of the book, with the opportunity to also underwrite and evaluate Onshore Renewable Energy and Power (operational and construction) accounts
  • Identify and deliver on cross-sell opportunities within Energy & Construction, with broader AGCS business lines and Allianz group companies
  • Actively drive involvement of functional areas in the Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations etc.
  • Maintain and develop broker relationships and attend client meetings to market our offering and value proposition
  • Work closely with all team members in Energy & Construction, providing training, mentoring and technical support as needed



Key Requirements/Skills/Experience


  • You have 5 to 10 years’ experience underwriting profitable business in the Offshore Renewable Energy segment. Ideally you will also have experience of underwriting Onshore Renewable Energy and Power (operational and construction) accounts in those segments
  • Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it
  • You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within your reference market
  • You have a specialised understanding of regional / national Offshore Renewable Energy insurance market, and the competitor landscape
  • You are able to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for your portfolio while maintaining positive business relationships with your clients and brokers
  • You are capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
  • You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
  • You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts
