This is an opportunity to join the highly successful Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business in Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS).


In ART, we create innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients globally. We specialize in helping our customers mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements covering a broad range of risks, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer and the global capabilities of the Allianz Group. We operate through AGCS offices in Zurich, Liechtenstein, London, New York, Bermuda and Singapore.



In this role you will…

  • Be part of a globally operating team of actuaries, cat modelers and business analysts
  • Work as a pricing actuary in “Deal Teams” on new structured solutions for our clients, jointly with senior underwriters and deal lawyers from different ART regions around the world
  • Be responsible for analyzing claims and exposure data, developing loss models, deriving a technical price, and supporting underwriters in defining adequate deal structures to ensure superior risk/return profiles
  • Document, explain, and defend model assumptions and results to relevant stakeholders
  • Perform 4-eyes reviews of pricing models developed by your colleagues
  • Drive development of an automated actuarial pricing system for ART’s Structured Auto Liability business segment in close collaboration with the ART Global Product Lead Structured Auto
  • Actively contribute to the development of ART’s underwriting, pricing and portfolio management framework; develop, maintain and promote economic portfolio models for dedicated ART sub-portfolios; and drive automation of processes to ensure that the ever-evolving business needs in the ART line of business are addressed efficiently and effectively
  • Collaborate and interact with the various functions (such as Underwriting, Deal Legal, Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Technical Accounting, Risk Management) and foster the understanding of ART’s business and our portfolio


To be successful in the role:


You will…

  • Have an engaged, diligent, and results-oriented personality, and be an open-minded team player that can also work independently and self-motivated
  • Feel comfortable to work with diverse, cross-functional teams in an international and dynamic corporate environment
  • Have a tertiary qualification in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Physics or another quantitative discipline
  • Be a qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent)
  • Be familiar with the corporate insurance or reinsurance industry and traditional P&C business (in particular with motor liability insurance for large commercial vehicles)
  • Have 3+ year experience in actuarial data analysis, technical case pricing, economic loss modelling or reserving
  • Have worked with Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel, and are familiar with Palisade @RISK; SQL; or VBA
  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken)


Ideally, you will also…

  • Have general finance and technical accounting knowledge
  • Be familiar with alternative risk transfer business and structured insurance
  • Be experienced with Aon ReMetrica software
