What we do

Exciting opportunity to work on a global book of international health business for individuals and SMEs. Complete data analysis and modelling to support pricing strategy development and optimisation. Work closely with colleagues in regional offices and other business areas to maintain visibility of market dynamics, the end-to-end business model and impact of pricing strategies. Assess risk and price it profitably in order to achieve the overall strategic goals of the department and wider organization.  Act as a knowledgeable resource and offer creative solutions within a goal oriented environment.  


What you wll do

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

•    Data Collection and Preprocessing: Gathering, cleaning, and organizing large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
•    Statistical Analysis and Modeling: Applying statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze data, identify patterns, develop predictive models, and develop pricing strategies for review and approval by senior management.
•    Data Visualization: Creating visual representations of data to communicate insights and findings effectively to stakeholders using tools like Power BI or matplotlib.
•    Problem-Solving: Addressing complex business challenges through data-driven approaches and proposing innovative solutions based on analytical findings.
•    Collaborative Work: Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, provide data-driven insights, and contribute to decision-making processes.
•    Continuous Development: Exploring new methodologies, and contributing to the development of innovative data-driven solutions.
•    Communication: Presenting findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner, and effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
•    Experimentation and Testing: Designing and conducting experiments to validate hypotheses and improve models, as well as evaluating the performance of data-driven solutions.
•    Ethical and Legal Compliance: Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical considerations in handling sensitive data.
•    Engaging in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in data science, insurance and related fields.
•    Maintain a culture of Technical Excellence, with particular focus on creating additional efficiencies and delivering greater sophistication to Pricing work. 
 

What we need

 

To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:

•    Experience in an (re)insurance role. Health and/or Pricing experience is desirable but not a prerequisite
•    Experience in coordinating efforts of others with whom there is and is not a direct reporting relationship 
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated processes and concepts to non-experts
•    Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R. 
•    A background in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling. 
•    Skills in machine learning and data mining are desirable but not prerequisite. 
•    The ability to present complex data in a clear and visually appealing manner using tools like Power BI, matplotlib or Tableau.
•    Advanced degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science.
•    Problem-solving and critical thinking.
•    Customer Focused
•    Ability to work effectively within a team environment
•    High attention to detail including a commitment to accuracy of reporting.
•    Strong time-management skills
