Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for maintaining and designing technical solutions on JAVA based systems in order to achieve optimal performances, stability and full integration with existing AGCS IT landscape.  As such, you will address multiple tasks (e.g., resolution of complex problems, technical projects expertise support, JAVA development teams guidance and design approvals, etc.).  You will also be responsible for critical CLAIMS application delivery ensuring the team follows best practices and creates clear documentation.  



In this role you will…

  • Provide Java architecture and design guidance to development teams.
  • Provide thought-leadership to project and development teams across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with Agile development teams, Product owners, Scrum Masters, Program Manager, and Release Train Engineers to assess, size, manage scope and risk.
  • Participate in SAFe ceremonies where required.
  • Take ownership of primary applications used by the Claims community in US.
  • Collaborate closely with the business and provide weekly/monthly reports to business and IT management on ongoing initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation on a regular basis and be accountable for the quality and completeness (when applicable).


To be successful in the role:

You will have…

  • A minimum of 3 years’ IT Professional experience (ideally in the Financial Services sector);
  • At least 1 year of experience designing/developing JAVA based solutions;
  • JAVA knowledge;
  • General technical knowledge, including Databases, Web servers, Infrastructure components, WebServices, etc.);
  • Continuous Integration skills (e.g., Subversion, Jenkins, etc.);
  • Architectural design mindset;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to build and foster relationships across the organization; and
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT Engineering.
