The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the managing director of finance, you will join the team as Head of Financial Close and Reporting, providing support to and is a critical part of the Company's finance department. You will direct all activities associated with the close and consolidation of the Company's financial statements for the North American entities of the AGCS business unit for our foreign-based company. You will manage a team of approximately 15 direct and indirect reporting accounting professionals and act as a liaison between operational accounting units, internal management and external contacts.    

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Oversee the preparation and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting on US statutory, international IFRS and Canadian P&C 2 accounting basis, including the closing activities required for the preparation
  • Monitor and analyze financial data in order to make recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain proper accounting methods and policies that align with the required accounting guidance by staying up to date on any accounting changes
  • Manage relationship with external auditors and various state Departments of Insurance  
  • Support the completion of the accounting and reporting of the investment portfolio and various data calls
  • Effectively lead and develop a staff of accounting professionals     

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years insurance accounting experience required
  • ICOFR Experience, Statutory Accounts Preparations, IFRS Accounting Background required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience in project management along with collaboration skills
  • Tech savvy in Excel and Word and ability to learn new systems
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business,
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)        
  • Masters in Business Administration and experience working for an international organization preferred    

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $119,280 - $203,072.  The annual base salary range represents a Chicago market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
