Junior Project Manager

  1. Manage change activities on a day to day basis on behalf of the sponsor of change through the AZT LV= Project Management Framework.
  2. Own the definition of the project, ensuring it has a defined and appropriately signed off business outcome(s) and that outputs are aligned to deliver changes required.
  3. Lead the shaping of the project, owning the plan and delivery of the change on behalf of the sponsor, creating pace & driving change, setting challenging but achievable targets for project team.
  4. Engage technical delivery areas (engaging separate Project Managers as Technical Project Managers as appropriate) to ensure nfrastructure changes are scoped and delivered with the support of the Portfolio Manager / Senior Project Manager.
  5. Pro-actively manage issues, risks and dependencies taking action as appropriate to achieve urgent resolution, escalating clearly and promptly as required.
  6. Negotiate timely execution of work and engagement of business resource to support delivery with the support of the project sponsor.
  7. Ensure progress is clearly communicated and any slippage identified is clearly escalated to the project sponsor / Portfolio Manager as appropriate with appropriate mitigating actions.
  8. Secure necessary funding and resource required to ensure project success, engaging support from the project sponsor and Portfolio Manager where necessary.
  9. Manage Project Budget tightly, ensuring accurate forecasting and early communication if likely to go outside of approved budget.
  10. Ensure projects are closed properly, outcomes delivered and Post Implementation Reviews are undertaken.
  11. Continuously develop knowledge of the AZT LV= Project Management Framework and associated tools.
  12. Take responsibility for developing process improvement opportunities and project management best practice within the team.
  13. Dynamic and self-motivated style, with passion to learn and develop.
  14. Highly organised with excellent command of all standard desktop software ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Explorer and of Project Management Software.
  15. Ensure compliance with the rules and requirements of the Financial Services Authority (OUR REGULATORS) and any other relevant legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks, including the TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) framework.

Financial Scope

Up to £50k

Breadth of Project experience

Exposed to providing customer service and being measured. Awareness of what a project is and the challanges that can be experienced.

Knowledge of project management practices, methods and tools

Has an basic understanding of the project management role.

Some knowledge of Project Management Software willing to learn new tools and skills.

Project Management Qualifications (Scrum APM, Prince 2 etc)

Aware of Change Management certifications and be willing to train and attain qualifications.

An understanding of the General Insurance busines exposed to some form of financial management.

Very confident oral communicator. Written communication is concise, well-structured and consistently professional quality. Communication is predominantly at project reporting level.
