Job Purpose/Role

The Data Engineering Manager and Architect is a key role within the data team of Allianz Technology Thailand. The position is multi-faceted, having ownership of the Data Engineering team and its members and also the technical oversight of the data products being created. Having involvement with projects all over the world (Asia Pacific, Europe and beyond) means this job requires a high level of adaptability and versatility to be able to cope with the many demands coming into the team. The continuos growth of the existing team in terms of capacity and technical ability is paramount. Being calm and focussed whilst navigating a complex problem domain will facilitate effective solutioning within this role.

Key responsibilities/What you do

• Proven experience in ETL design and development
• Database design and modelling (multidimensional, 3NF, data vault)
• Experience with agile methodology and tools (Jira, confluence)
• Establishing development standards
• Managing development activities
• Recruitment and training of developers
• Fostering learning within the team
• Identifying business opportunities
• Understand and drive reporting/visualisation topics
• Be a key point of contact for Data requirements in the region
• Understanding of insurance business, ABS Knowledge (Desirable)
• Experience in use of containerized environments for development (Desirable)
• Kafka Knowledge (near real time data integration) (Desirable)

Key requirement /What you bring

• 10+ years of total experience in Data
• 3+ years of experience leading a team
• Worked in Agile methodology
• Significant experience in the following categories;
  • Data Warehousing
  • ETL Development
  • Dimensional Modelling
  • Data Vault 2.0
  • Data Science
  • Amazon Web Services
• Experience working with subject matter and technical experts
• High communication and interpersonal skills
• Oral and written proficiency in English language
• Mentoring and coaching of developers
• Staekholder management
• Keeps skills up to date and transfers knowledge where possible
