Job Purpose:

Responsible for tax management, tax planning and tax strategy for Allianz in the region. The role deals with various tax related services, e.g. tax advice, tax reporting and tax risk management, and builds an interface to Allianz Group, especially Group Taxation.


Key Responsibilities:

Tax management
•    Performs tax management, tax planning and strategy for Allianz in the region, including working with the respective Head of Tax in each Asian Operating Entity (OE).
•    Performs tax risk management.
•    Manages the regional tax function.

Tax reporting and compliance
•    Oversee tax reporting of all Asian OEs and compliance.


Tax advice and support        
•    Provides tax advice to all Asian OEs, including to Regional HO in Singapore
•    Supports senior management on day-to-day tax queries.
•    Participates in and reviews from tax perspective regional and local projects, including M&A.
•    Builds interface and network with Head of Tax in each Asian OE


Interface to Group
•    Builds interface to Group tax.
•    Prepares proposals from a tax perspective for Finance Committee and any ad-hoc presentation requested by Group on Asia tax affairs


Liaison with authorities
•    Interacts with tax authorities related to tax audits, advance Rulings, APA.
•    Interacts with regulators (e.g. MAS).


Key Requirements:

•    Minimum 10 years experience in tax, including 4 years experience in a senior-level position.
•    Knowledge of international taxation, should have cleared Tax advisor exam.
•    Knowledge of IFRS tax accounting.
•    Project Management: Ability to plan, organise, motivate, and control resources to achieve specific goals in a temporary endeavour.
•    Strategic Planning: Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business.
•    Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to analyse highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
•    Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.  Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story.
•    Change Management: Ability to transition individuals, teams, and the whole organization from a current state to a desired future state.
•    Strong understanding of financials, cost management and macro-economic trends.
