Career Returners UK
Welcome Career Returners
Let’s care for tomorrow. For your ambitions. Your challenges. Your tomorrow. A career gap shouldn’t be a barrier to realising your professional goals and aspirations. We know you have all the skills you had before your break and you’ve gained some new ones too. Be proud of your career break, put it at the front of your CV, focus on your transferable skills and tell us what you can do.
Our Returners Programme
Around half a million professionals in the UK are currently on care-related career breaks, and the majority want to return to work. That’s far too many skilled individuals seeking to restart their careers but facing the challenge of getting noticed in a crowded job market when their CV has so-called ‘gaps’.
We know the value Returners bring to a business.
Different ways of thinking are critical to solve the challenges we may face as a business and companies with diverse teams outperform those without them. Employing people from different backgrounds and making them feel included is a major driving force behind the existing success of our global company. In 2016 we became the first UK insurer to create a specific route to success for those who’ve taken care-related career breaks, and now have a growing internal Alumni group.
The programme is supported by bespoke coaching sessions from Women Returners, and you’ll be helped along in the transition by a business-based mentor and opportunities to network with other returners and the wider business.
See, if our Career Returner programme could be right for you. Are you …
- looking to return to work after a career break of at least 2 years and enter a permanent role?
- keen to refresh technical skills?
- enthusiastic about professional development and networking with other returners and the wider business?

Jobs for Career Returners
Meet Susan, Project Manager
"When looking to return to work, I was keen to restart a career I had previously loved and put to good use both my professional experience and the personal skills developed as a parent. The programme offered by Allianz has given me the opportunity to do just this, recognising that time out of the workplace should not mean the end to a professional career."
Meet Victoria, Senior Project Manager
"The programme is a very forward thinking way of re-introducing experienced career-breakers to the workplace. Significant talent is lost as a result of parents leaving work to bring up children and this programme recognises the value of those skills. The programme invested considerable time and effort in the recruitment and on boarding process and really helped me to feel valued and accepted."
