Job Purpose/Role 

 

The holder of this position will underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Line of Business (LoB) targets regionally including global elements. You will take ownership of large or key accounts and clients including negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions. Another task is to develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients due to your specialized technical expertise.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role you will…


•    Underwrite Profitable business 
•    Negotiate participation, pricing, terms and conditions with brokers. Proactively manage capacity
•    Underwrite International Liability Insurance Programs 
•    Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles
•    Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
•    Ensure utilization of global pricing tools
•    Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to broker or broker has issued documentation
•    Proactively support completion of policy administration and credit control processes
•    Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Liability 
•    Proactively drive acquisition of new business and retention of existing business for large/key clients (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
•    Proactively liaise with Distribution on market management initiatives
•    Positively represent AGCS externally to the market with key brokers / distribution channels
•    Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. Distribution, Allianz Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations
•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)


To be successful in the role:

 

You will have….
            
•    Preferably a degree in Economics, Law
•    Min. 3-5 years significant professional experience in Underwriting Liability, alternatively similar experience from a job role closely linked to Underwriting
•    IIP Handling / handling of international accounts
•    Specialized expert understanding of multiple sub-LoB products and portfolio
•    Demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at peer group level well established within market
•    Specialized understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape, including global elements
•    Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
•    Experience working in complex, global matrix organization
•    Risk Assessment and Management: Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB
•    High knowledge on Compliance to restrictive Measures of foreign Countries (ILG)
•    Pricing and Market Management: Analyze current performance against benchmarks applying how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs
•    Fluency in both German and English is mandatory
•    Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire

Additional information

44,590.84 Euro collectively agreed minimum salary, plus overpayment, depending on qualifications.
