Job profile:

The Workplace Service Delivery department is responsible for the operation of all Workplace Services in the Allianz Group. This includes notebooks, desktops, virtual clients (AVC/VDI), file services, Office 365, mailing, service desk, field services and other products. With site reliability engineering we are shifting the focus from reactive manual operations tasks to highly automated and standardized approaches for IT operations through code. As a product owner, you will be responsible to implement site reliability engineering as a valuable practice to create a scalable and highly reliable modern workplace. A core responsibility is to ensure that there is a reasonable split between the coordination of workplace-related incidents across service and provider boundaries for problem analysis and troubleshooting, but also to continuously deliver product increments to create new features, scale systems as well as to implement automation. The goal is to improve the end-user experience and productivity by increasing the performance and stability of workplace services.



  • Accountable for maximizing the value of site reliability engineering, resulting from the work of the agile team
  • Develops a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for the site reliability engineering in workplace services
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, including clearly expressing product backlog items, ordering the items to best achieve goals and missions, representing the desires of the stakeholders in the product backlog and ensuring that the product backlog is visible
  • Align & develop joint implementation approach for SRE with other areas in Allianz Technology
  • Manages cross functional dependencies between epics and user stories in alignment with stakeholders
  • Links objectives to key results to increase transparency how the outcomes of the product contribute to important priorities throughout the organization
  • Regularly provides communicates updates and creates transparency towards the customer on what the agile team will work on next
  • Ensures that the Team understands the backlog items to the needed level
  • Ensures that product increments are delivered in high quality and iteratively considering customer and stakeholder feedback thus ensuring continuous product improvement
  • Clearly points out and provides solutions for product-related impediments
  • Collaborates with other product owners, e.g. monitoring, support, user experience
  • Operates within an agile squad primarily using agile principles and practices, while also applying specific practices from project management
  • Ensures the balance between operation tasks (incident, problem, change management, on-call service) and the work on epics as well as user stories


Requirements /Knowledge/Experience:

  • Having an Agile mindset
  • Critical Thinking generated by observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, and communication
  • Applying analytical thinking, methodological and conceptual skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Having strong business knowledge
  • ITIL v4, DevOps or SRE Foundation certification desired
  • Experience working with infrastructure, endpoint monitoring systems and site reliability engineering
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Profound knowledge of the customer, market and competitors
  • Higher education degree in business administration, change management, economics, IT or comparable education
  • Relevant work experience in leadership, management, and / or relevant areas
