Intern - Alternatives Operations (m/f/d)

Location: Luxembourg


At Allianz Global Investors Luxembourg Branch we are looking for a dynamic and motivated student to be an Intern with our team in charge of Alternatives Operations. The internship will be full-time for a duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible.


Key responsibilities
AllianzGI has set up an Alternatives Operations team which, among others, runs the oversight of fund accounting, custody and depositary topics for Real Assets and Private Markets pooled funds with the predominant domicile in Luxembourg. In this context and with the growth of investment and strategies and funds we have experienced an increase in BAU events such as invoices and payments for which we need support from a motivated intern. You will be an integral part of the team in Luxembourg and would support the team with the various payments and payment-related topics as follows:

  • Prepare and process payments for fund expenses
  • Prepare and process payments for investment transactions
  • Prepare and process payments for credit facilities, incl. preparatory tasks before being able to instruct such payments
  • Update and maintain a tracker file for all relevant payments
  • Actively seek and propose optimization potentials for the existing processes, files and documentations
  • Further BAU-driven topics arising from the various oversight activities the team currently have might become relevant along the internship period


Key requirements, skills and experience:

  • You are enrolled in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelor‘s or Master‘s degree in Economics or related fields
  • You are highly interested in the fund industry and in the Alternatives / Private Markets and Real Assets industry
  • You are proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel as well as PowerPoint) and have a strong interest or some affinity in process automation and the implementation of digital solutions (databases, workflow tools, etc.)
  • You have gathered first professional experiences in the context of internships
  • You are fluent in English, knowledge of German and/or French would be an advantage
  • You have strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy and keen attention to details
  • You are an excellent team player with good communication skills and a self-reliant working style
