We are looking for a new Head of Underwriting Risk (m/f/d) based in Munich.
 
The Impact You Will Have 
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will lead the underwriting risk team, which consists of five employees. Your responsibilities will include covering underwriting risk appetite and management, reinsurance credit risk, and risk governance, including risk reporting.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Lead the underwriting risk team and have responsibility for the management of underwriting risk and of risk governance aspects of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty globally
• Propose and monitor the underwriting risk appetite for noncat, manmade and natcat risks
• Perform credit risk management in the context of reinsurance (securities vetting, collateral management)
• Perform regular top risk and emerging risk assessment 
• Define and prioritize actions to mitigate risks in close collaboration with the underwriting and claims functions
• Drive discussions with senior and top management and with Allianz Group functions 
• Perform regular and ad-hoc risk reporting to top management

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Excellent qualifications with an analytical background, preferably a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or another analytical science.
• Ideally, at least 5 years of professional experience in underwriting, reinsurance, P&C insurance, etc., with experience in a risk management function preferred.
• Strong understanding of risk governance principles and regulatory requirements.
• Engaged, independent, and collaborative working style; business-minded, pragmatic, and results-oriented attitude.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; assertive and collaborative.
• Fluent in English.
