Job Purpose Role

 

The IT Governance Manager plays a key role in driving digital risk management activities within Allianz Direct. This position requires a keen understanding of IT systems, IT Governance principles, and regulatory requirements including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, standards, IT Governance practices and monitoring the compliance of the IT function. Additionally, you will manage information risks in line with business owners’ risk appetite and provide regular reporting to different stakeholders. You will incubate and lead a small team of IT Governance specialists and collaborate with other departments to ensure synergy and effective governance. The role reports to the CIO.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

IT Governance Manager is responsible for:
Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee yearly refresh of corporate rule book for IT, ensuring they are in sync with IT Operating Model and IT Service Management (ITSM)  processes of Allianz Direct.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reporting on the various KPIs with a focus on IT processes (Internal and Group Reporting) and actively participate in key committees such as the IT Steering Board (ITSB).
Risk Assessment and Analysis: Support business owners in scoping IT assets of Allianz Direct according to their inherent risk. Identify information risks with respect to all relevant IT controls, leveraging our provider’s control assurance.
Strategic Input and Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on latest developments in IT governance, risk and compliance practices and tools. Drive continuous evolution of our control framework.
Team Lead: Incubate and guide small team of digital risk analysts.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments such as TPRM, Information Security, Risk Management and business units to ensure synergy and effective governance.
 

 

Qualifications/Key skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in IT risk management, IT audit, IT consultancy, IT advisory or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of IT Governance and IT Risk Management Frameworks (e.g., COBIT2019, ISO27001, ISF, etc.) as well as IT risk assessment tools, compliance software, and GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as DORA and other relevant external regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively, and lead a small team
  • Fluent in English language both spoken and written.
