Portfolio Pricing Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a portfolio analyst to join our Animal Health Portfolio Management Team. The portfolio team are responsible for delivering actionable data insight for a number of animal health brands including the market leader PetPlan and LV Pet Insurance. Our portfolio & pricing capability is at the heart of achieving our strategy and it is an exciting time for you to join and shape the future of our business.
As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, you will develop your knowledge of the wider pet insurance market as well as raising your understanding of account management. You will work with a wide range of areas across the company such as Underwriting, Marketing, Claims, Actuarial and Pricing, and you will be exposed to, and interact with, management on a regular basis.
You will contribute to the development, production and analysis of data, using your analysis to make recommendations and oversee their implementation within the business to drive positive change and ensure we meet our business objectives.
Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager, you will:
- Play a pivotal role in the delivery of strategic projects to further enhance our account management, monitoring and pricing capabilities;
- Be responsible for the production and technical analysis of specialised and strategically sensitive information;
- Measure, analyse and track progress and performance of the pet account against plan and profit targets;
- Deliver insight to inform pricing and commercial decisions, as well as aiding their implementation and subsequent monitoring;
- Contribute to the development of pricing structures and strategies to maximise growth and profitability;
Skills and Experience:
This is a great role for someone who would like the opportunity to further develop their data and analytics skills to drive and deliver business outcomes. To be successful in this role you will have the following;
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills when working with large volumes of complex data
- Strong ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience of using analytics tools for example SQL, Alteryx, Radar, MS Excel, VBA and MSTR
- Proven high degree of numerical ability and attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work with conflicting data, identify emerging trends and act upon them
- Stakeholder management experience and proven experience of building strong relationships across varied teams
- High organisational and planning skills
- Business acumen as well as an understanding of the insurance sector - pet insurance knowledge desirable but not essential
- Numerate A-levels (or equivalent) essential
- Degree level qualified in numerate discipline preferred
- ACII (or progression towards/similar industry qualification) preferred
