SAFed Affiliated Allianz 2 Year Apprenticeship Scheme

Are you ready to fall in love with Engineering? Do you want to be part of a business that is innovating and exciting? Then look no further, Allianz Engineering, Construction & Power is currently recruiting for 9 Apprentice Engineer Surveyors throughout England for our Engineering Apprentice Scheme 2022!

These roles are in various locations.

Our amazing apprenticeship scheme allows you earn whilst you learn, providing you with a qualification and a career at the same time. Allianz will support you in gaining the appropriate hands-on experience and qualifications.

This is an amazing opportunity for motivated individuals to pursue their love for Engineering. As one of our apprentices, you will learn from established and credible Engineers and trainers.

As an Engineer Surveyor you will assess a wide range of installations, these could be lifts located in Canary Wharf or a hydraulic excavator in Birmingham working on HS2. You will anticipate our client's needs and help them in ensuring that they comply with the relevant legislation. You will work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by one of our Senior Operations Team Leaders. You will prepare reports of examination following your inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients.

This role forms an integral part of our business, as you carry out hands-on inspections of various items of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant. The Engineer Surveyor role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, working in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in both hot and cold conditions. It involves exposure to noise and dust, so you need to be happy being in a hands-on environment.

At Allianz Engineering, Construction & Power we want to allow you to develop your career within the engineering inspection industry. To facilitate you in achieving your Level 4 qualification in Engineer Surveying, 20% of your time will be spent between on-the-job training and block release academic learning at Fareham College (all costs covered by Allianz). You will join the apprenticeship on a 2 year Fixed-Term Contract; on successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will join Allianz as a full-time permanent employee.

We will support you through all aspects of the apprenticeship through to being a fully qualified Engineer Surveyor. Allianz can offer you award-winning professional and personal development opportunities whilst you complete your apprenticeship and beyond.

This is an exciting home-based opportunity for an engineer to join Allianz Engineering, Construction and Power. Upon successful completion of your initial field training and authorisation (typically 6 – 8 months), you will be assigned a defined geographical area. You will be inspecting a wide range of plant equipment, ensuring a high standard of customer service is provided to our clients. Following suitable training and induction into the role, we would expect you to work independently utilising your experience and expertise to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Entry requirements:

Must be a full-time resident of England.

  • Experience - Minimum of 3 years relevant engineering experience, of which one provides general knowledge of plant and systems or services in the intended discipline of Lift & Crane.
  • Engineering qualification – Minimum Level 3 qualification in an Engineering related subject (i.e. ONC, OND, Tech. Cert at least T3 level, NVQ level 3, or equivalent)
  • Academic qualification – Level 2 (GCSE Grade 4 / Grade C) English and Maths are required to complete the apprenticeship. These can be obtained as part of the apprenticeship.

  • You will need to be passionate about engineering, self-driven with the ability to interact with a variety of clients daily
  • Committed to learning both through academic studies and on the job activities
  • Have a passion for self-development and building a successful career with Allianz
  • Time management skills are essential as you will be required to independently organise your week's work in an effective manner
