PL1 Batch Developer

You will

As PL/1 Batch Developer you are responsible for technical design and implementation of our PL/1-based business applications with end-to-end responsibility for your product and make an important contribution in IT environment of Allianz Group.

• You will align with respective product owner and team members to understand the business requirements of our customers and to consult and support customers, in terms of the implementation of our software (Allianz Business System).
• You are responsible for designing and implementing Batch Applications in PL/1 and for utilization of extension patterns offered by our development frameworks properly in order to customize, replace and extend existing functionalities.
• You contribute to development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation of our applications, as well as work with our DevOps engineers to guarantee stable environments and deliver highly reliable, fault-tolerant solutions.
• By supporting quality engineering, you will maintain program libraries so as technical documentation, and provide enhancements to our deployed applications.

You need

• You have very good knowledge/experience working with PL1.
• A basic knowledge in Linux as an OS, standard Linux commands (e.g. vi editor, grep, …) is also required as practical experience with version management systems (e.g. GIT, …) and with technical documentation of batch processes (preferably in Rochade).
• You have excellent communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written, and of course you bring a flexibility to travel to Vienna.
• With a team-minded and problem-solving attitude and a resourceful mindset you will be a great add to our team.
• Java basic knowledge is a plus (e. g. Interfaces, Abstract Classes, Generics, Thread, TDBC, Collections Framework, Exception Handling, …).
