What’s your mission at Allianz?
My field of work is product design, pricing and management. My tasks at Allianz are, amongst others, to assess risks, identify key controls, and to provide advice to product initiatives. At the same time I am responsible for the incident and issue management. I try to protect customers’ interests AND to ensure that product leaders have the right tools to manage their risks.

What’s your career progression?
I started my career in Internal Audit and Risk Management with BDO and Deloitte. At Allianz, I got the opportunity to be involved in various risk, audit and compliance projects and was able to learn the best practice and apply the state of the art tools and techniques that Allianz has to offer. Within six months of my joining, I was quickly promoted to Manager, skipping one level as I was able to demonstrate my leadership skills and participated in opportunities that pushed me out of my comfort zone.

What's surprising about your job?
My friends think that I perform the duties of an auditor, but my role is actually taking problems and providing solutions.
When I started in my area of responsibility, I never thought I would be seen as an advisor to the more senior leaders at Allianz. I had never expected that people in executive roles would reach out to me and that I would have the chance to directly work with them, which is very rare in other financial services companies.

Dare to express your concerns and opinions and always apply your own logic to the most complex problems. Never stop working on your communication and conversation skills - no matter what role you pursue!
