Sr. Mortgage Investment Analyst
Reports to the SVP, Investment Strategy. Responsibilities include supporting the development of an economic and market view which leads to the setting of the strategic and tactical asset allocation for both commercial and residential mortgage loans.~crlf~~crlf~Primary responsibilities include monitoring individual CML/RML positions that require elevated analysis and perform ad hoc reporting as required including analysis, design and improvement of current investment process, benchmark index selection and monitoring the portfolio vs the benchmark. Work with external asset managers to ensure the proper implementation of the asset allocation, internal risk management to ensure portfolio risks are understood and communicated, and back office/accounting to ensure accurate recording. Must be proficient in Excel. Knowledge of Argus, LMS, Bloomberg and/or FactSet helpful.
- Primary owner for analysis and recommendations of CML and RML asset classes at the sector and sub-sector level~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~- Develop portfolio investment guidelines including index definition and allocation for use by external asset managers~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~- Develop reporting, monitoring and analysis of investment positions vs. targets~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~- Perform deep dives into problem assets, perform tenant, credit and rent roll analysis as necessary~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~- Develop analysis of key competitors investment strategies~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~- Work with back office/accounting/internal risk team to develop internal ratings model and to set appropriate risk limits~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
Education ~crlf~- Four year degree required~crlf~- 4-5 years experience required~crlf~~crlf~- CFA or advanced degree preferred~crlf~- CML/RML investment and operations knowledge required. ~crlf~- Working knowledge of investment systems such as Argus, LMS, Moodys, Bloomber and/or Factset.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~Preferred ~crlf~Understanding of insurance company investing and CML/RML risk rating models helpful ~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
