"Reporting to the Head of Back Office for Allianz Investment Management in the United States, this position is responsible for the enablement of all Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management activities in the General Account. This position will lead the functions responsible for back office accounting and operations support for various asset classes in the general account. This position will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including: Peers within the Operations department, Hedging, Investment Strategy, Portfolio Management, Compliance, Corporate Risk Management, Finance and IT.~crlf~~crlf~A key priority for this role is to help the push towards Operational maturity, focusing on various dimensions such as: Governance, Control Environments, Roles & Responsibilities, Processes, Technology design and Customer/Provider Management. The role will include a focus on bettering all three dimensions - People, Process and Technology."
Back-office~crlf~• Leads the functions responsible for the daily back-office, including investment system maintenance, reconciliations and settlements~crlf~• Manages operational controls, including reporting, planning, and security valuation~crlf~• Includes regular core processes, such as Settlement, Wiring, Trade Confirmation, Collateral Management~crlf~• Will regularly include Data Quality Management as well as remidiation of existing operational deficiencies~crlf~• Covers a wide variety of assets, consisting of liquid and various illiquid assets (i.e. private placements, CMLs, RMLs and various other Alternatives)"~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~Relationship Management~crlf~• Manages counterparty and vendor relationships~crlf~• Manages client interaction and issue resolution~crlf~• Supports accounting/operations across the value chain~crlf~~crlf~Project Management~crlf~• Oversees the pre-and post-trade compliance & risk management~crlf~• Ensures operational coordination and integration with clients, global partners and vendors~crlf~• Responsible for remediation of current shortcomings and key actor in the Operational Risk Management Program~crlf~• Actively manages, designs, and optimizes operations processes~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
- 8-10 years experience required - within investment operations~crlf~- Four-year degree required - Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, accounting, business, technology or investment-related degree~crlf~~crlf~Preferred~crlf~- 11+ years experience preferred~crlf~~crlf~- Experience in Investment Accounting applications (PAM for Investments, Precision LM)~crlf~- Advanced degree preferred - MBA, CFA, CPA or equivalent~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
