Senior Reinsurance Accountant I, Chicago, IL
Responsible for the accounting, settlement, and credit control activities associated with complex reinsurance programs. This position will also be responsible for developing and monitoring reinsurance completeness and accuracy controls on assigned reinsurance activity booked.
##Perform accounting and settlement of transactional activities for assumed and ceded facultative reinsurance payables and recoverables.~crlf~##Work collaboratively with other Functional areas (e.g., Operations, Accounting, and Claims) and other AGCS branch finance team in establishing reinsurance processes, booking flows and accuracy completeness controls.~crlf~##Monitor credit control activities which drive collateral requirements for Schedule F.~crlf~##Lead projects related to system upgrades, integration, and migration, including testing of new systems for completeness, accuracy, and functionality.~crlf~##Provide required sample testing and data gathering for External Auditors and KPMG.~crlf~##Participate in other assigned projects as necessary.~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business;~crlf~##CPA preferred, but not required;~crlf~##Minimum of 3 years of P&C insurance industry experience in Reinsurance Billing, Collections and reporting; ~crlf~##Knowledge and experience in dealing with various Reinsurance programs (e.g., Treaty and Facultative);~crlf~##Knowledge and understanding of standard accounting (GAAP) and P&C (Statutory) insurance and reinsurance practice and principles;~crlf~##Good understanding of Operational booking processes;~crlf~##Knowledge and experience in dealing with various multi-currency systems and accounting for multi-currencies;~crlf~##Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a faced paced environment;~crlf~##Ability to collaborate with others;~crlf~##Willingness to accept challenging assignments;~crlf~##Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);~crlf~##Excellent verbal and written communication skills;~crlf~##Ability to build and foster relationships across the organization; and~crlf~##Ability to work within a diverse environment.~crlf~~crlf~
