##Provide underwriting technical support to the MidCorp Package and Programs teams~crlf~##Act as the technical consultation point for LoB~crlf~##Responsible for creating underwriting guidelines, wordings, and training in coordination with the Product Line Leaders in MidCorp and where necessary with other LoB leaders when their products are needed by Middle Market Package Underwriters
Underwriting Strategy & Knowledge Transfer~crlf~##Support development of global LoB strategy, UW policy and all other relevant issues concerning LoB~crlf~##Participate in the development and execution of underwrtiting strategy for LoB. ~crlf~##Work closely with Market Management, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross selling~crlf~Profit Center Coordination~crlf~##Serve as technical expert for underwriters and Global Practice leaders by providing formal and informal training, coach and mentor underwriters to ensure technical skills advance to levels appropriate for MidCorp business ~crlf~##Responsibility for determining the training plan~crlf~Global Processes, IT-Systems and Tools~crlf~##Represent LoB / UW as BLO and in respect of global (IT) systems and processes~crlf~##Develop, define and coordinate global processes (e. g. referral flow)~crlf~##Triage common underwriting system questions, provide solutions where known, and work with business analyst/IT to resolve defects~crlf~UW Approach and Compliance~crlf~##Responsible for ensuring that the underwriters underwrite within line with LoB governance framework. Reset underwriting authorities where needed~crlf~##Create and update underwriting guidelines, rules and principles for each class of business currently written by the MidCorp Package and Small Business Team~crlf~##Draft insurance contract language and direct product development and regulatory filing projects; key contact for regulatory inquiries~crlf~Policy Documentation and Administration~crlf~##Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producers (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or producers has issued documentation (where producer responsibility)~crlf~##File maintenance – ensure file is established (whether electronic or paper) and maintained for each risk and transaction handled~crlf~##Proactively support completion of policy administration and credit control processes~crlf~##Audit underwriter files to ensure compliance and evaluate underwriting strengths and weaknesses of underwriters~crlf~Relationship Management~crlf~##Represent AGCS internally in the group, and externally to customers, the industry, and other organizations~crlf~##Drive involvement of functional areas in process coordination including e.g. Market Management, Operations, Actuarial ~crlf~##Actively support LoB specific projects and task forces~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor Degree in Business Administration / Mathematics / Statistics / Finance and/or Actuarial background~crlf~##Minimum 3 to 5 years of significant experience in Underwriting management and/or organization and/or processes management~crlf~##Successful track record of leadership of direct teams or complex matrix environments~crlf~##Experience of working internationally with strong ability for cross border adaption~crlf~##Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk inherent exposures and hazards relevant to Liability and Auto~crlf~##Portfolio Management: manage the underwriting books, monitor appropriate price, terms and conditions; analyze trends and scenario plans~crlf~##Contract Drafting and Interpretation: design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings~crlf~##Pricing: analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance~crlf~##Advanced Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire~crlf~##Intermediate Strategic Planning: Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business~crlf~##Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally; ability to “sell” an improvised or prepared audience winning story~crlf~##Negotiation & Conflict Management: Ability to negotiate best options for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties~crlf~~crlf~
