Senior Accounts Assistant (6 months Contract)
Responsible for the timely clearing of suspense accounts in relevant area of responsibility. This includes the processing the related booking entries, reconciliation (balancing & resolution of differences) along with relevant adhoc activities (e.g. process improvements). ##Coordination, clarification and balancing of unbalanced items and resolution of differences ~crlf~Ensure that all suspense items are matched in source system and cleared in the General Ledger. ~crlf~Identify and analyze all accounts differences and liaise with Underwriting and the brokers to ensure that all items are booked correctly and differences are resolved in a professional manner and on a timely basis. ~crlf~Recommend write offs where applicable.~crlf~##Processing~crlf~Perform suspense matching and clearing and related account reconciliations as assigned. ~crlf~Coordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems~crlf~On an ongoing basis, properly account for all technical bookings through timely application in the SAP system and booking in the GL. Prepare monthly suspense account reconciliations and related journal entries.~crlf~##Governance and quality assurance~crlf~Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility. ~crlf~Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements. ~crlf~Draft standards to improve quality.~crlf~##Project work as assigned.~crlf~##Collaboration and Customer Service~crlf~Work collaboratively with other Functional Areas (Operations, Accounting, Claims) in establishing processes, booking flows and accuracy completeness controls. ~crlf~Maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders. Provide professional and timely customer service to internal and external customers.~crlf~##Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.~crlf~
##Professional experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance and / or asset management.~crlf~##Proven understanding of standard accounting (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance.~crlf~##Project and team work in an international and dynamic environment.~crlf~##Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or comparable degree preferred or qualified by experience in related discipline.~crlf~##Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to effectively analyze data and convey messages in a winning fashion.~crlf~##Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers.~crlf~##Legal and Regulatory Framework: Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies) wrt reporting, compliance and declaration.~crlf~##Ability to handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) including understanding of data flows.~crlf~##Analytical Thinking and Numeracy: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex (e.g. ambiguous, from various sources) data and processes to rapidly distill key issues and provide insight in various situations.~crlf~##Problem Solving: Ability to identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues that can be abstract / ambiguous and follow through on their remediation.~crlf~##Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively in respect to the audience / level of management (both verbal and in writing).~crlf~##Project Management: Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, moderating) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and regulations.~crlf~
