Actuarial Analyst - Short Tail Lines Reserving (m/f/d) based in Munich
The Short Tail lines reserving team is part of CFO Actuarial in AGCS. CFO Actuarial is responsible for the appropriate level of reserve needs. It fulfills the responsibilities of the Actuarial function under Solvency II, analyses trends, and steers the actuarial results with a forward-looking view to secure AGCS’s future profitability. ~crlf~ ~crlf~We are looking for a motivated and investigative seasoned actuary based in Munich. In this role, your main tasks will include actuarial analysis of the loss position of short tail lines encompassing data gathering and manipulation, models development and refinement, actuarial analysis and documentations. Moreover, you will work closely with underwriting, claims and pricing teams to challenge and incorporate their input and to present and explain his/her analysis and findings.~crlf~ ~crlf~You will report to the Global Head of short tail lines reserving. You will ensure that the team leader can focus on strategic matters by processing delegable tasks. The actuary also participates in important projects where involvement of the manager's office is necessary.
In this role you will… ~crlf~##Support the team leader to actively steer actuarial results for ST lines with a forward-looking view to bring transparency for clear understanding of the quarterly and annual Actuarial P&L impacts and trends. Execute advanced actuarial analysis to understand profitability, trends, underlying patterns, update loss provisions etc.~crlf~##Drive innovation and efficiency in all our processes, particularly to improve annual reserve review quality and control and the understanding of quarterly/monthly impacts for ST lines. Prepare professional, high standard actuarial reports.~crlf~##Peer review work from other team members.~crlf~##Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Allianz SE Holding Company, Underwriting, Planning & Performance Management (P&PM), Claims, CFO, etc.) by being the key contact person for your selected line of business globally and/or region.~crlf~
##Tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Mathematics, Statistics or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in a related discipline~crlf~##1 to 3 years of working experience in reserving, thereof large part in short tail lines reserving; experience in corporate P&C sector is preferred~crlf~##Experience in developing/enhancing and implementing models/analysis and processes ~crlf~##Job specific knowledge with regards to market dynamics, standard concepts and approaches, regulations/compliance standards, reporting requirements (e.g. reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, data flows, etc.)~crlf~##Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs. management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting~crlf~##Quantitative financial and risk modeling know-how and skills~crlf~##Excellent communication and presentation skills to present results to stakeholders~crlf~##Experience in working in an international environment ~crlf~##Great ability to influence others without authority and listening skills~crlf~##Fluency in English is required, fluency in German is a plus.~crlf~
