    The Claims Associate will begin working in the Hi Lo Claims Department with advancement to adjusting "standard" claims within the CSC Hi Lo Claims unit. The claims which are adjusted are those within AGCS Inland Marine, Hull & Marine Liabilities, Aviation, Liability, Property, Ocean Cargo and Canada policies. In addition, the Claims Associate will:~crlf~##Proactively investigate, negotiate and resolve standard claims within the CSC Hi Lo claims unit in O'Fallon~crlf~##In-house adjusting~crlf~##Ensure claims are handled within authority limits and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines~crlf~##Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as internal business partners~crlf~##Provide efficient claims handling within team while working with third party services providers in achieving economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external relationships

    ##Investigation and Reserving of Claims~crlf~##Investigate high volume claims that involve non complex issues on APD claims associated with MTC programs, as well as Hi/Lo claims for additional lines of business~crlf~##Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels~crlf~##Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Independent Adjusters, Experts)~crlf~##Settlement~crlf~##Negotiate and resolve noncomplex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions~crlf~##Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines~crlf~##Drive effective subrogation processes~crlf~##Referrals and Compliance~crlf~##Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines~crlf~##Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~##Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters~crlf~##Market Management~crlf~##Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business ~crlf~##Proactively liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives~crlf~##Attend industry functions~crlf~##Relationship Management~crlf~##Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~##Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations~crlf~##Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)~crlf~##Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally

    ##Certification: College degree~crlf~##Trade Qualification: Insurance industry designations~crlf~##Minimum 1 to 3 years: Proven track record in handling claims involving noncomplex coverage and damage issues~crlf~##Minimum 1 to 3 years: Detailed understanding of claims handling process~crlf~##No previous experience required: Demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: In depth understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Multi-lingual is a plus~crlf~##Products and Coverages: Detailed understanding of Auto claims products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages~crlf~##Claims Handling: Solid knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery~crlf~##Reserving: A knowledge of reserving principles and practices~crlf~##Intermediate: Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze noncomplex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire~crlf~##Intermediate: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties~crlf~##Intermediate: IT skills (Office applications): Use of general office application tools e.g. Power Point, Excel, Word~crlf~##Intermediate: Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" claims service abilities as a marketing tool
