Job Purpose/ Role
Allianz Re is a division of Allianz SE within the H9 Resort with offices in Munich, Singapore, Dublin, and Zurich. Allianz Re offers reinsurance solution and services for Allianz internal OEs and reinsurance protection external Insurance Companies and is the Group’s reinsurance vehicle which actively manages risk and capital. Our range of activities include reinsurance, capital management, run-off, cat risk management and risk data analytics. The posted position is based in Vienna and reporting to the Regional Team Head for CEE (intra-group) reinsurance, the Client Underwriter will take care of all client management activities around reinsurance programs in the region CEE. This role is the key contact for the Allianz OEs for all topics around the management of risk exposures through P&C reinsurance. 



Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Munich UW to determine reinsurance treaty pricing line with established AZ Re pricing and broker benchmarking process; check consistency and representativeness of final price; support techical exchange and alignment with the benchmarking broker; manage the renewal process in a timely and efficient manner (including broker price benchmarking process)
  • Analyze client reinsurance business case in the dimension OE view / AZ Re view / Group view as well as appropriateness for direct business development
  • Act as Consultant for Allianz Re Client Underwriters with focus Client Management and OEs as regards reinsurance solutions to meet Group and OE objectives; challenge proposed/existing reinsurance structures in terms of effectiveness; develop and propose structure optimisation 
  • Develop reinsurance market knowledge and analyse/evaluate market information; gather in-depth understanding of cedents in terms of local portfolio and reinsurance buying behaviour
  • Analyze OE reinsurance contract wordings and make proposals for optimization and compliance with AZ Re governance (ASOR, standard wordings, manadatory exclusions)
  • Overlook and coordinate activities of AZ Re for OEs  (Legacy, Capital Management, Complex Transactions, L&H, Specialty etc.)



  • University degree or qualified training in the Insurance or Reinsurance Industry
  • Fluent English

Experience & Key skills    

  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in P&C multi-line Reinsurance treaty underwriting 
  • In-depth knowledge of reinsurance treaty types
  • Good knowledge of Allianz Re pricing tools, the GRIP system and DMS
  • Experience with reinsurance wordings including knowledge of Allianz Re Standard Wording and the relevance Governance papers
  • Experience in successfully managing and developing customer and broker relationships
  • Good knowledge around Client issues
  • Strong proactive & innovative mind-set

  • High level of customer centricity
  • Ability to work in an international team
