Job Purpose/Role 


At ART, our Finance Operations team maintains optimal receivable levels by using automated processes, providing full transparency and receivable risk assessments. Our experts produce valuable financial insights for the company and help to protect its assets.

 

Based in Zürich, you will be part of a diverse and international team that handles all types of facultative reinsurance, with a focus on international insurance programs , reporting and cash settlement. Your responsibilities include the handling of all accounting topics concerning settlement with broker or reinsurer as well as credit control activities like receivables management.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role you will…

 

•    Ensure that all accounts receivable / payables are settled as per agreed terms of settlement and booked correctly. This includes the coordination, clarification and balancing of unbalanced items and resolution of differences
•    Establish and maintain an abeyance system and recommend write offs where applicable
•    Perform credit control function of Accounts Receivable/Payable and related account reconciliations as assigned. This also includes the preparation of monthly cash, receivable / payable and other account reconciliations and related journal entries.
•    Execute settlements with brokers and re-insurers particularly the control of outstanding balances of ART
•    Work collaboratively with other Functional areas (Operations, Accounting, Claims) in establishing processes, booking flows and accuracy completeness controls.
•    Maintain a collaborative relationship with external brokers. Provide professional and timely customer service to internal and external customers

 

To be successful in the role:

 

You will have…


•    Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Masters), preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or qualified by experience in related discipline
•    You have a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
•    You have proven experience in accounting and credit control practice in an international environment. Ideally experience in insurance accounting
•    Analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data and processes
•    Advanced Excel skills to analyze and present data in a compelling way to a variety of stakeholders
•    Fluent in both German and English
