Job Purpose/Role

Reporting to the ARC Head of Engineering CEE, you will be responsible for providing loss control expertise, supporting and assistance to AGCS and its customers, to assist Allianz underwriting in risk selection and retention. You provide ongoing co-ordination and monitoring of the loss prevention activity / servicing of assigned accounts & loss control survey work to assist with servicing of assigned accounts. You develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Market Management, Communications, Claims, clients and brokers. Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in respective field to support the business.


Responsibilities

 

In this role you will…

 

•    Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluating and summarising exposures and controls 
•    Work with underwriting, claims, clients and brokers where appropriate to develop customized loss control programmes including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services
•    Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives
•    Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc. 
•    Monitor 3rd parties ensuring adequate contract and controls are in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties 
•    Assist AGCS and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required 


To be successful in the role:

 

You will have…

 

•    At least 3 years’ experience as civil engineer in the manufacturing industry or consulting companies. Experience in a corporate insurance company would be a plus.
•    A demonstrable engineering / technical expertise across the entire spectrum of heavy civil engineering to structural engineering projects globally.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German are essential (other languages are an advantage) 


Ideally you will also have…

 

•    Knowledge and experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) would be beneficial.
•    Strong digital and data analytical skills. Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies in field.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally 
•    Able to work and navigate in an international matrix organization, working alongside Global teams
