Product & Portfolio Manager, Farm – Technical Division | Location is flexible

The Product & Portfolio Manager for Farm role sits within our Technical Division which is responsible for product, pricing and portfolio management. In this role you will report to the GM Specialty Products & Portfolios and will develop and implement product governance and risk frameworks, including completion of regular product reviews, submission to Product, Pricing and Underwriting Committee and regular reporting of product risk metrics.


You'll be expected to:

  • Monitor and analyse product plans and the underwriting framework, ensuring underperforming segments are appropriately addressed.
  • Develop and implement product governance and risk frameworks, including completion of regular product reviews and regular reporting of product risk metrics.
  • Provide oversight of the end-to-end product lifecycle, including the roll-out of products across the enterprise and supervision of distribution obligations.
  • Define and maintain the Target Market Determination.
  • Liaise with the Pricing team to determine the pricing strategy.
  • Ensure compliant product documentation and supporting materials are maintained including PDDD and DSO approvals.
  • Perform and monitor underwriting controls and conduct quality assurance for peer review process.
  • Provide input to financial planning process.


Important to your success:

  • Significant product management and/or underwriting experience for a general insurance organisation.
  • Experience in the execution of a planned piece of work/ key project to a high standard.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to facilitate the evaluation of complex and detailed data in the development and mangement of a range of insurance products .
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of governance requirements and frameworks as well as portfolio sensitive legislation or regulations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline supported by relevant insurance industry qualifications and ANZIIF (or equivalent) accreditations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
