This is a senior position within the finance function and is responsible to manage and lead the actuarial (P&C valuation) team and ensuring the effective implementation of process, controls, governance, tools, and systems that allow effective functioning of this function.


The actuarial (P&C valuation) team is responsible for several key functions and operations that are crucial to the running of the company including: Actuarial Reserve calculations, Solvency Requirement calculations, financial projections, stress testing exercise and reinsurance calculations.


Reporting to the CFO, the incumbent will also work closely with other finance and cross-functional team members within the Company in delivering accurate results and analysis.



  • Prepare accurate data for external certifying actuary to calculate insurance actuarial reserves and subsequently peer review reserves calculated.

  • P&C Valuation under Singapore RBC framework. This includes Reserve and Solvency Capital Adequacy calculation and projection under Singapore RBC and under IFRS17.

  • Responsible for completion and accuracy of local regulatory fillings especially for inputs such as reserves and solvency calculations.

  • Conduct experience analysis and present results to stakeholders (including reserve moment analysis).

  • Carry out financial projections for the purpose of internal financial planning, stress testing, liquidity and solvency requirement projections.

  • Spearhead IFRS17 developments and implementations.

  • Produce key reports, conduct and present experience analysis to help management in driving the profitability and performance of the company.

  • Conduct UAT on system developments especially when developments are feeding into production of reports or IFRS17 calculations.

  • Carry out reinsurance reporting and billings.

  • Ensure adequate controls and governance are in place.



  • At least 10 years’ experience working as an actuary

  • 3 years of post-qualification experience with P&C insurance companies and in carrying actuarial valuation function with a P&C insurer

  • Experience in managing and leading a team or subordinates

  • Local Singapore P&C Insurance valuation and RBC2 experience is a plus

  • IFRS17 experience is a plus

  • Possesses good attention to detail, interpersonal skills, reliability & conscientiousness.

  • Strong stakeholder management ability with ability to influence without authority

  • High standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized
