Job Purpose/Role

The Cyber Risk Consultant will be a part of the Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team and is responsible for providing cyber-related exposure analysis, identification of potential cyber threats, attack vectors and vulnerabilities, and risk improvement consultancy services to AGCS’ large corporate clients, with a focus on clients in the Asia-Pacific region. The role is based in Singapore and reports directly to the Regional Risk Consulting Manager in Singapore while operating in a matrix structure with global reporting responsibilities to the Global Cyber Risk Consulting Lead in London.

 

In this role, the Cyber Risk Consultant will support underwriters by conducting desk-top-reviews, risk dialogues with the clients, on-site technical assessments at facilities of existing and prospective clients, while maintaining professional working relationships with Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, Clients and Brokers.

 

The global role will be actively involved in the development and evaluation of cyber products and increase cyber knowledge and resource sharing within the company as one of the points of contact for cyber risks, including providing reports, presentations and information when required.

 

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessments

  • Perform cyber risk assessment desktop analysis of existing and/or potential AGCS Cyber clients evaluating and summarising exposures, risk mitigation controls, and deliver cyber desktop assessment (DTA) reports for clients & underwriting. 
  • Survey client operations to obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties.
  • Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc. and meet reporting deadlines in accordance with performance objectives.

 

Consulting Services

  • Carry out cyber risk dialogues or site surveys when required with large accounts, which involve complex cyber risks. Provide technical consultation to AGCS clients in relation to cyber exposures.
  • Work with Claims on large or unusual Cyber losses, as required.
  • Review of ARC internal cyber risk assessments and ensure quality of work provided by vendors.

 

Global Thinking & Execution

  • Understand, analyse, and provide insights on the ARC Cyber global portfolio and its changing trends by compiling reports when required or by participating in ARC projects.
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in Cyber security to support global business development.
  • Support the ARC Cyber Team leader by enhancing his/her availability to support accounts globally.

 

Digitalisation

  • Improve and develop tools and methods to appropriately capture and quantity the diverse set of first and third party cyber risks.
  • Collaborate closely with the ARC Cyber Team and Underwriting in improving and promoting the Cyber product, using all the available digital tools.

 

Compliance

  • Implement best practices for Cyber risk assessment in line with Risk Consulting and Underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Improve and optimize Cyber risk assessment processes by reducing complexities.
  • Vendor management to global procurement rules.

 

Vendor Management

  • Appoint / monitor vendors, ensuring adequate contract / controls in place within budget.
  • Quality control of work provided by vendors.

 

Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain communication with Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, other Lines of Businesses and Business Development colleagues.
  • Communicate and share technical Cyber expertise with various stakeholders. Provide presentations and training sessions for AGCS and client representatives. Contribute to White Papers development and other articles/brochures/studies.

 

Projects

  • Actively assist ARC Cyber team leader on projects supporting AGCS’ transformation and digitalization, and provide clients with expert advice on ongoing or specific projects.

 

Key Requirements / Skills / Experience / Expertise

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Cyber Security would be preferred or Masters' degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology and Information Systems, Distributed Computing, Network Structure, Software Developing, and AI. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physical Sciences will be considered.
  • Familiarity with cyber security tools/services, penetration testing, programming languages, malware assessment and risk management. Cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must to present complicated technical issues and articulate recommendations to stakeholders of different levels of technical understanding and/or leaders in all levels of management.
  • 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry or consulting companies. Being responsible for system and/or network security would be an asset
  • Expertise in Industrial Network Security of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) - Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Information Security / IT Security
  • Knowledge of ICT Management Systems, Business Continuity Management – e2e digital value chain – and risk assessment methods and tools
  • Understanding complex IT infrastructures (hardware components; software - UNIX, Linux, Windows; network communication protocols - TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC, Database structures), various Digital Platforms, Cloud computing, IoT, Blockchain based solutions, AI business applications
  • Consulting experience in advising international companies about IT security project phases in the operational environment preferred
  • Strong digital and data analytical skills with an understanding of design, deployment, implementation and change management of new IT technology and standards
  • Ability to work well within a global team, with empathy in a team environment and understand the needs of internal customers
  • Ability to travel throughout Asia with occasional global travel
