Key responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain and improve effectiveness of regional and local ALM/ SAA activities for Life & Health and Property & Casualty segments
  • Serve as a business partner to insurance operating entities in Asia by providing support on ALM analysis on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Support local CIOs in annual SAA derivation process, identification of investment strategies, analysing and understanding all applicable dimensions (e.g. ALM, local accounting, IFRS, local regulation/ solvency requirements, risk/ return optimization)
  • Involvement in new product development process of traditional life products, unit-linked solutions and ALM requirements for new products
  • Prepare and present ALM activities and provide trainings at meetings and conferences on local, regional and Group levels
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

 

Key Requirements/ Skills/ Experience

  • Have 5-10 years of work experience in actuarial pricing, reserving, asset liability management or product development for the insurance industry in Asia
  • Academic background in actuarial sciences, financial mathematics, finance or related fields with strong quantitative skills and analytical mindset. Actuarial certification is desirable.
  • Good understanding of financial instruments such as fixed income, derivatives (forwards, swaptions, EQ/ IR, Futures, etc) and structured products
  • Strong understanding of Asia economics, Asian investment products and Asian insurance markets
  • Experiences in investment portfolio management or investment strategy desirable
  • Good presentation and communication skills with fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Relationship building skills, willingness to travel occasionally if required
  • Proactive and enthusiastic personality with the ability to identify and lead projects, and people based in different locations in the region
