Intern - Back Office Operations (m/f/d)

Location: Senningerber, Luxembourg 

 

At Allianz Global Investors Luxembourg Branch we are looking for a dynamic and motivated student to be an Intern with our team in charge of Account Opening - Global Custody Markets. The internship will be part-time (20 hours per week) for a duration of 12 months, starting as soon as possible.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Within AllianzGI there is a BAU Change team which coordinates life-cycle events such as fund launches, mergers, liquidations, FX setups and custody account openings within the AllianzGI Operations function to ensure operational readiness for such events from the operations perspective. In this context you will become an active member of the team dealing with retail and pooled vehicle events for Europe.

 

Currently the team is transforming its processes into a fully digital workflow via MS PowerAPPs. Your main role will be to support the team lead with this activity and others as described in more detail below:

 

  • Business process design and documentation of current workflows for Custody account opening. (Actual tool and flow development done by IT)
  • Testing and logging of requirements of new development handed over by IT
  • Register and renew registrations of funds in different markets
  • Actively liaise with global custodians and internal departments for new workflows
  • Support the life cycle sub team with Clearing Broker changes, new product setups and FX standing instructions and TCA (Transaction Cost Analysis)
  • Work on custody sub account opening and related tasks

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:

  • You are enrolled in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelor‘s or Master‘s degree in Economics or related fields
  • Highly interested in the fund industry.
  • Proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel as well as PowerPoint) and have a strong interest in process automation and the implementation of digital solutions (databases, workflow tools, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MS PowerApps clearly a benefit.
  • First professional experiences gathered in the context of internships
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German and/or French would be an advantage
  • You have strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • You are an excellent team player with good communication skills and a self-reliant working style
