JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
We are looking for a Cat Modelling Analyst to join our Cat team at Allianz SE Branch Rome. In this role, you will be responsible for the Nat Cat risk assessment of Allianz internal portfolios, as well as of third party clients and the support of Nat Cat pricing projects. You will work closely together with the Munich Allianz SE Cat Risk management team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analysis of Nat Cat and Cyber data, including but not limited to carrying out the Cat risk assessment (Cat modelling) and data analytics for internal and external clients
• Support of Nat Cat Pricing projects with Cat model output
• Preparation of comprehensive documentation, guidance to stakeholders, and knowledge transfer
• Cat model testing, validations, analytics and workflow optimization
• Automation of data preparation and data flow
• Build and maintain relationships to Operating Entities and AZ Re stakeholders (e.g. Retro reinsurance, Underwriting)
• Support outgoing reinsurance, ILS solutions and projects, as well as M&A activities upon request
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KEY SKILLS
• Master’s Degree in Geosciences, Environment, Mathematics or related field in Engineering.
• Working experience in Cat modelling using probabilistic cat models is a plus
• Good knowledge in handling and analysis of large data sets including database technology and languages (SQL).
• Understanding of (re)insurance business and treaty structures
• Programming skills and experience (preferably Python)
• Strong analytical, mathematical and statistical skills
• Good communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
• Self-motivation and committed working style
• Proficiency in English is a must
