Role & responsibilities

 

  • Works closely with the investment team to serve as an internal and external advocate for equity strategies with a focus on the Asia and China product range.
  • Ability to build expert knowledge of products, investment process, philosophy and AllianzGI’s investment style and to communicate this to sales teams and to present to distribution partners.
  • Acts as the external voice of the investment team and is the interface between investment professionals and the sales and marketing teams. Provides training to educate the sales force with the required technical details to present the investment strategies to clients.
  • Originates product information that meets the requirements of different client groups with focus on the investment process, performance explanation, portfolio holdings and illustration of the investment case.
  • Represents fund managers at client and consultant meetings, as well as marketing events
  • Actively writes and articulates portfolio relevant commentaries and original content to support the positioning of products. Leads the external and internal communication of investment related content for marketing purposes.
  • Delivers the required portfolio and investment strategy related content to the RFP team and client service entities
  • Stays abreast of the strategy's performance in relation to competitor products and can explain performance scenarios relative to the market environment and peers
  • Actively participates in product development initiatives
  • Actively participates in Product Specialist team activities. Shares best practice to raise the overall quality of product specialist team work and to leverage the existing business network with sales colleagues

Memberships / other key relationships

  • CFA, CEFA or CIIA qualification desired

 

Experience / Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 10 years professional experience in portfolio management or investment research. Institutional sales, product management or high end institutional client service experience also considered.
  • Ideally specific experience of China equities, including China A Shares.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to tailor message for a diverse range of audiences and to clearly articulate investment content
  • Strong written and verbal command of English. Mandarin also preferred.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, cross-regionally, and cross-culturally in a large organization.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter and organized personality with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Intellectual and cultural curiosity.
  • Proactive attitude with internal and external clients and be responsive to their needs.
  • IT literate and experienced user of ppt, doc, xls.
