Based in Paris and reporting directly to Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) Regional Energy and Construction Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing loss control expertise, supporting and assistance to AGCS and its clients.


Supporting the ARC global construction team, your role will be to assist the underwriting team in risk selection, to implement prevention plans and to provide technical expertise to the claims department.


You co-ordinate and monitor our loss prevention activity, service assigned accounts & conduct loss control survey work. You develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Distribution, Communications, Claims, Clients and Brokers.


With an eye to the future, you will take a proactive and innovative approach to risk management, and aid knowledge sharing and continuous improvement among our global team.



In this role you will....

  • Perform desktop reviews and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluation and to summarize exposures and controls
  • Survey client projects to identify hazards, discuss findings and generate loss control reports, recommendations etc.
  • Participate in client meetings to assist underwriters and promote our loss prevention activity
  • Work with clients and brokers to develop customized and cost-effective loss control plan programs
  • Generate and review reports and issue necessary recommendations
  • Monitor loss control measures and keep cost expenses within the budget
  • Bring your technical expertise to review claims reports and support the claims department in the adjustment process, and collect Risk Management example material
  • Assist AGCS and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required


To be successful in the role:

You will have….

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a civil engineer in the manufacturing or consultancy sectors. Experience in a corporate insurance company would be a plus.
  • Demonstrable engineering / technical expertise across the entire spectrum of heavy civil engineering to structural engineering projects, globally
  • You are a self-starter, able to develop and implement initiatives with minimum input from management
  • You have a strategic mind-set and are future-focused
  • You have a strong team-work ethic and excellent communication skills
  • Able to work and navigate in an international matrix organization, working alongside global teams
  • You can travel on regular basis, mostly in France and occasionally in Europe or beyond
  • You are fluent in French and in English (Dutch or Italian skills would also be appreciated)
