The Accounting Associate is responsible for  handling customer service inquiries by taking both inbound customer calls and inbound email and either resolving the inquiry or transferring to the appropriate party to resolve. Also responsible for set up of accounts for Brokers, Direct Bill Clients, Coinsurers and Reinsurers.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Initiating legal letters for accounts referred to Late Stage collections
  • Contact insureds and brokers regarding delinquent accounts
  • Ownership of accounts in assigned queue – understanding of collection status and aging
  • Transfer of uncollectible accounts to Outside Collection Agencies/Counsel
  • Understanding of internal and external collections cycle/processes/timelines
  • Collaboration with Early Stage collections team – understanding of Early Stage letters and Collections system
  • Project work on an individual and team level as needed
  • Work with internal departments to achieve timely and accurate results/obtain key information for collection accounts


Required Experience


  • Solid computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office software e.g. Excel, Word. PowerPoint       
  • Accounting technical knowledge to accurately record accounting transactions       
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills preferred      
  • 1 - 3 yrs Billing and Collections, Insurance Operations or Accounts Receivables experience.           
  • Experience in Insurance, preferred           
  • Experience with SAP GL and AR system, preferred           
  • Experience working for an international organization, preferred
  • Must be customer service driven detail oriented and a team player.       
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to multitask in order to manage assignments       
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred
