Role Purpose:

Direct the claims handling support and strategy for both the onshore and offshore Claims support teams. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the NA Claims organization for activities identified to be offshored on an ongoing basis.  Serve as an SME on Claims System Projects, including all phases of projects, including Legacy Systems, AZGo, CLAWS releases/decommissioning projects and ITMP. Provide support for NA Claims organization as needed for audits of claims processes.  Act as a liaison between functional dependencies (e.g., FinOps, Policy Ops, GPM, CCO)

 

Key Responsibilities:

Claim Strategy

  • Establishment and maintenance of onshore/offshore claims operational support processes for all LOB within Region thus allowing all LOB to focus on other matters outside of administrative processes.
  • Continued implementation of new business processes to support CCO initiatives
  • Support the development of cross LoB regional strategy. 
  • Collaborate with Claim management and other claims product teams to develop strategies and business plans to reduce claim cost/expenses   

 

Relationship Management

  • Serve as point of contact with Treasury in regard to claim payment issues
  • Create and maintain working relationships with other functional dependencies such as FinOps, Policy Ops and GPM.

 

Claim Systems and Processes

  • Ensure claim handling consistency and discipline through management of assigned claims support processes across multiple systems in accordance with corporate and local claims guidelines
  • Support ITMP initiatives

 

Leading and Managing Claims Team

  • Lead and manage regional onshore support team and liaise with GBO Transition manager
  • Assist with managing cost center budget within plan
  • Continuous evaluation and planning to develop the Processing staff knowledge to further assist each LOB within the Region
  • Continuous review of Processing staff in order to maintain functional capacity to support all LOB's accordingly

 

Customer Focus

  • Processing team usage with current and new accounts to provide best in class customer service
  • Meet with all LOB leaders (Marine, Aviation, Property, Liability, and Canada) to assist in providing claim assistance and develop workflows where customize services may be needed

 

Required Skills:

  • Degree Preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in claims or operational management
  • Demonstrable track record of managing expenses
  • Ability to assess exposures and mitigate expenses for multiple lines of business, manage the claims for LoB, monitor claims exposure and reserves
  • Ability to analyze trends and scenario to develop and implement claim handling best practices.
  • Ability to provide interpretation of coverages and manage the denial and acceptance of Claims for multiple LoBs.
