Sr. Claims Associate in the Entertainment Department. Proactively investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve standard claims involving Property, Miscellaneous Equipment and Vehicles, Third Party Property Damage and Props Sets & Wardrobe. Responsible for in-house adjusting. Ensure claims are handled within authority limits and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.  Read policies, interpret coverage and adjust claims accordingly.  Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as internal business partners. Retain and manage third party service providers (if necessary) to achieve economical results and provide high quality service. Proactively liaise with team members and internal business partners. Develop/maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. 

 

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

Investigation and Reserving of Claims

  • Proactive claim management including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and disposition of standard claims in accordance with claims regulatory guidelines
  • Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels
  • Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Independent Adjusters, Experts)
  • Manage and monitor incoming claims communication (email, phone, mail) and respond in a timely manner

 

Settlement                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

  • Negotiate and resolve noncomplex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions                                                                      
  • Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines                                                                                                                   
  • Drive effective salvage and subrogation processes

 

Referrals and Compliance                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

  • Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines                                                               
  • Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate                                                                          
  • Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters

 

Market Management                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business                                                                                                              
  • Proactively liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives                                                                                                                                       
  • Attend industry functions 

 

Relationship Management                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

  • Positively represent AGCS externally to the market and develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)
  • Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations
  • Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Insurance Industry Designation (preferred but not required)
  • Basic Skills:
    • Products and Coverages: Detailed understanding of claims products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages
    • Claims Handling: Solid knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery 
    • Reserving: A knowledge of reserving principles and practices 
  • Intermediate Skills:
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze non-complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire
    • Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties
    • Use general office application tools e.g. Power Point, Excel, Word
    • Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.  Ability to "sell" claims service abilities as a marketing tool
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years experience
    • Proven track record in handling claims involving non complex coverage and damage issues             
    • Detailed understanding of claims handling process            
    • Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer level group and well established in local market
  • Multi-lingual is a plus but not required
