Allianz Real Estate of America (“AREoA”) is seeking a Financial Analyst - Asset Management with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of real estate experience. The position, based in Midtown Manhattan, will report to the Head of Asset Management.

 

AREoA is the U.S. subsidiary of Allianz Real Estate (“ARE”), the captive real estate investment and asset manager serving the global Allianz Group companies. ARE has assets under management of approximately $90.0 billion and has approximately 485 employees around the globe with subsidiaries in Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, the U.S. and the Asia/Pacific Region.

 

AREoA makes equity and debt investments in the top 50 metropolitan areas in the U.S. and manages an existing portfolio of direct equity holdings, joint ventures, fund investments and commercial mortgage loans aggregating approximately $23.0 billion. Annual debt investments include approximately 40-50 commercial mortgage loans totaling $2.5 billion.

 

What you do:

  • Support Asset Management team in all activities related to direct and indirect investments for a nationwide portfolio; report to U.S. Head of Asset Management.
  • Participate in preparing background materials for Investment Committee approval recommendations related to budgets, leases, capital upgrades, financings and refinancings, and dispositions
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly data collection (e.g. rent rolls, financials or ad-hoc requests)
  • Develop investment models to support major leases, repositioning and capex projects, sales, or refinancing strategies.  Assist Senior Associates in all budgeting and planning exercises.
  • Review quarterly financials and monitor investment performance (underwritten to actual/budget);
  • Interface with Risk and Portfolio Management, Finance, Acquisitions.  Interact with European counterparts

 

What you bring:

  • 1 - 2 years of related work experience, preferably in asset or portfolio management.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills with expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as well as high proficiency in Argus.    Solid understanding of discounted cash flow modeling.
  • Understanding of real estate fundamentals and capital structures, including basic familiarity with complex capital structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong integrity and professionalism
  • Attention to detail with superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced and changing work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
