Job Purpose/Role
AGCS, Allianz’s center of expertise for global business insurance and large corporate specialty risks, has a new
and exciting opportunity to share. Here at AGCS we are in growth mode, with the goal of constructing a
technically and digitally skilled workforce, that will share in our vision of caring for tomorrow. We are seeking
an experienced industry professional to lead our efforts in the role of Learning & Development Director,
Associate Graduate Program.
The Learning and Development Graduate Program Director will design and lead our industry-leading
Associate Graduate Program to attract, develop and engage the next generation of underwriting talent across
AGCS. The Learning and Development Graduate Program Director will:

  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure that the Associate Graduate Program meets the strategic needs of the business.
  • Manage multiple events, create engaging learning and networking experiences, and leverage relationships at all levels in order to provide a world-class experience to cultivate a pipeline of emerging leaders here at AGCS.
  • Although the Learning & Development Graduate Program Leader will initially focus on the design, development and implementation of the Associate Graduate Program in N.A.,we have an ambition to expand the program globally in the future, with 50+ graduates in countries around the world participating.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, within the different Lines of Business and the AGCS Academies, to facilitate needs analysis and define the skill, capabilities and knowledge requirements of the AGCS Associate Graduate Program.
  • Curriculum and Program Design–Design the program curriculum and overall program structure, providing Associate Graduates the opportunity to learn through a mix of education, exposure and experience.
  • Program Development – Lead the development of program content, defining delivery modalities, leveraging adult learning methodologies and the latest learning technologies (e.g. blended learning, e-learning, video, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Curriculum Mapping – Map the specific learning outcomes and skills of the program to the corresponding program elements, in support of Associate Graduates as they transition into professional lines of business.
  • Program Implementation: Take on the exciting task and full responsibility for delivering our first pilot program, managing all academic and operational components, including course materials, venues, vendors, scheduling, onboarding, assessments, facilitation and other program delivery elements as required.
  • Program Evaluation Metrics – Develop KPIs to track participant progress and evaluate individual and overall program success/failure. Use an iterative agile approach, leveraging participant and business feedback, to continuously enhance the program and maintain up to date content, fit for purpose.


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor Degree: Corporate Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources or other related field
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years: Underwriting and/or Claims Management
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years: Leadership (self, others, projects etc.)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years: Project Management Experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years: Collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years: Instructional Design and Training Facilitation Adult Learning Theory
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Insurance Business Value Chain
  • Comprehensive experience with strategic learning/capability building and digitalization of learning offerings.
  • Analytic skills: utilize scientific methodology to identify future capability requirements and interpret HR data.
  • Experience with KPI driven learning approach.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business.
  • Change Management: ability to transition individuals, teams, and the whole organization from a current state to a desired future state.
  • Organizational Design and Development: Ability to design and drive transformation of organizations including corresponding structures and business processes.
  • Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story.
  • Marketing skills to position products internally and externally.
  • Consulting skills: ability to develop solutions based on extensive consultation and assessment.
  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a highly matrix global organization
