What you do:

Lead and manage an external wholesaling team responsible for driving sales of Allianz annuity products as well as productivity through registered reps and broker dealers (BDs) across multiple channels (wirehouse, regional, bank and independent) in assigned district. Achieve top-bottom line business goals in assigned district.  Coach and mentor wholesalers to effectively position products and articulate the AZL value proposition to registered reps and centers of influence (COIs).  Ensure compliance with sales supervision and regulatory policies among wholesalers within the district.  Support wholesalers through the navigation of the various distribution channels within the company to drive sales while preserving important distribution partnerships.  Build, develop and protect relationships with COIs within key BD relationships and business development opportunities. Recruit, build and nurture a high performing team and culture. 


Generate revenue and drive connectivity with centers of influence

  • Develop, implement and execute on sales strategies with a goal of increasing sales/market share
  • Lead sales meetings that motivate the wholesaling team and delivers effective sales ideas as well as best practices
  • Partner closely with President, Internal Sales and other key business partners to ensure wholesaling team is working efficiently to drive sales
  • Maintain a deep understanding of product knowledge, competitive landscape, industry trends, customer needs and preferences


Recruit, build and nurture a high performing team

  • Talent development – attract, develop and retain talented wholesalers
  • Coaching – provide daily leadership and sales coaching tailored to individual wholesaler needs
  • Culture – foster a positive team environment of excellence and strong employee engagement
  • Performance management – manage wholesaler activity, set targets, performance improvement plans and rigorous standards of professionalism


Run and manage the business

  • Results – achieve top-bottom line business goals and objectives
  • Sales execution – ensure appropriate alignment and accountability for business results
  • Leadership – establish and manage sales metrics to drive sales; represent Allianz at national events; collaborate with key business partners
  • Administrative – manage district budgets, negotiate marketing support, prepare/deliver executive level communication, resolve escalated issues


What you bring:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience required:  Field experience required; 10+ years of industry experience
  • Four-year degree required
  • Series 7 or 6 and 63, 24 required; Preferred: 65
  • Annuity/Life insurance License required


  • 11+ years of experience preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred


Job may require periods of stooping, standing, bending or sitting. 

Domestic and international travel required
