What you do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of professionally developed sales-oriented educational Advanced Markets presentation programs. The position requires keeping current on life insurance and annuity industry advanced markets issues and concepts. It involves an in-depth analysis of possible topics for future Advanced Markets programs that both educate and provide sales opportunities for producers that benefit contract owners. The position mentors junior members to collaboratively create cutting-edge producer presentations and related marketing collateral on those latest Advanced Markets topics.  Outstanding communication and presentation skills with an ability to connect technical advanced tax and legal concepts to the practical sales process so that the producer understands how the information can be applied in a sales situation is essential.  Extensive travel, combined with or in addition to, hosting virtual and hybrid presentations and varying, flexible work schedule is required. 

 

Through research, feedback from the field, and ideation proposes and creates Advanced Markets promotions, presentations and marketing materials to support sales goals in Distribution for all channels.  Continually monitors, keeps current on, and shares Advanced Markets issues and industry concepts and through this leads ideation on new subjects and topics for promotion by Advanced Markets intended to enhance cross-selling opportunities. Focuses on all channels with emphasis on areas that could attract IARs assisting Allianz’s RIA market penetration.   

 

The position translates new concepts and content for annuity opportunities in retirement income planning and practice management promotions.  Much effort is devoted to keeping current on relevant tax, regulatory and cutting edge practice management, retirement income planning trends and issues and industry concepts. It is expected that the individual will provide guidance in developing novel, creative, and industry leading topics for field programs and promotion by Advanced Markets to enhance company and department industry reputation through cross selling opportunities.  Consistently researching new ideas related to regulatory/ product/tax/legal issues and developments related to retirement income planning and Advanced Markets programs supporting annuity opportunities along with industry practice management, FinTech and all aspects of retirement planning income trend is paramount to success. 

 

The most visible part of the position is delivering the highest level of professional presentations to producers or clients of producers.    Presenting Advanced Markets topics (and other value-added programs) to financial professionals at a variety of venues and through various virtual platforms is an ongoing responsibility.  These events could include broker-dealer and strategic account meetings, Allianz marketing conferences and Universities, industry meetings and conferences, client seminars, FMO events, and combinations of Advanced Markets and FinTech exhibitions or events. The individual needs to be adept at presenting as a keynote speaker, break-out speaker, via WebEx or a myriad of other virtual platforms (CE and non CE presentations), internal and external conference calls, etc.

 

Finally, but just as critical to success, one must act as an ambassador and liaison between external Distribution partners (RCs, wholesalers, advisors, marketers), and internal home office sales and marketing departments.   Coordinating with other teams within DSD; especially the Academy Team, FinTech, and ASAPP is of ultimate importance for success. At times this will mean bringing appropriate ideas to Marketing from Distribution while simultaneously considering and supporting corporate strategic direction and initiatives.

 

What you bring:

Minimum requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience required:  Experience in financial services industry in advanced markets, tax, or law, with outstanding public speaking skills, exceptional writing skills as well as strong technical skills including but not to Microsoft office and various webinar platforms.
  •  Advanced degree required:  JD, CPA, MBA, CFP
  • Series 6 or 7, 63 and State life insurance licensed

Preferred:

  • 11+ years of experience preferred:  Extensive experience in Advanced Markets area creating and presenting marketing programs.
  • Advanced degree preferred:  JD, CPA, MBA, CFP

 

Travel required (pre-pandemic) 80% and may return to that level.  Job may require periods of bending, stooping, extended periods of sitting or standing.  Driving, flying commercial airlines and hotel stays will be a regular part of the position
