What you do:

Our Sr. Analyst will help analyze and make recommendations regarding our ALM strategy and metrics including SAA analysis, interest rate risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, capital, and limit frameworks. This will require the ability to run and improve our ALM models to reflect changing market environments. The Sr. Analyst will also develop investment related assumptions and outputs to support actuarial reporting and analysis. This position will work in collaboration with investment, actuarial, and risk management teams including our global ALM team. This position will report to the VP of ALM.

  • Research, develop and implement models to reflect changing business needs and market conditions following model risk management requirements, best practices and industry standard approaches, support validating any third party modeling software.
  • Support ALM strategy development for inforce and new products in collaboration with business partners
  • Run models and analyze ALM metrics across key risks and multiple scenarios preparing analysis of movement explanations, additionally run investment models to support actuarial reporting requirements and analysis
  • Prepare analysis and dashboards to support decision making for ALM and related topics
  • Prepare and develop investment assumptions needed for ALM and actuarial analysis including additional investment models and results


What you bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, improve, and build models including developing and validating models from first principles and working with complex dataset outputs. Must have strong ability in C++ (or related), SQL, VBA, and R or related statistical modelling software
  • Understanding of life insurance company balance sheet and related constraints, familiarity with annuity and life insurance products
  • Four-year degree in quantitative field including mathematics, engineering, economics, actuarial science or related
  • 2+ years’ experience within a life insurance company or related financial services company
  • Strong modelling experience including use of actuarial modelling software
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, ability to work cross-functionally
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
