What you do:

 

Works at an advanced level with attorney(s) and business partners on matters related to specialized areas of law, compliance and privacy. Performs advanced and complex tasks proficiently independently, using highly developed subject matter expertise and technical knowledge. Assists in other areas of Legal as needed.

 

A successful candidate will have background in:

 

  • Provide support to attorney(s) and internal business partners on complex business matters: Anticipate and execute on needed tasks, exercising exceptional judgment and decision-making skills. Specific responsibilities will vary depending on department assignment and area of law.
  • Independently and proactively identify appropriate action on legal issues, obtain appropriate buy-in and execute on actions.
  • Support enhancement of legal operations, internal reporting, corporate governance filings, corporate secretary function, and intercompany and external third party contract review/support.
  • Establish, implement and run compliance and privacy programs for venture capital entity according to Allianz system of governance.
  • Demonstrate project management skills within various organizational groups. Independently produce high quality, accurate work product.
  • Independently draft original legal documents, review and revise for style, accuracy and substance. Effectively utilize exceptional communication skills and skill in working with customers to understand and identify customer/client needs.
  • Deliver strategy focused proposals and presentations at all levels within the organization.
  • Communicate ideas or positions in a persuasive manner that builds support, agreement and/or commitments. Identify opportunities for service level improvements to clients, anticipate and respond to clients unstated and evolving needs, and recommend strategies to improve client service. Proactively identify areas for process improvement, identify best practices, and drive and lead implementation for process improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with law department technology, including software and databases. Perform complex legal research and analysis of statutory, regulatory, and case law in federal and all state jurisdictions. Proficiently research and analyze complex assignments involving multiple legal issues.
  • Effectively manage established working relationships, and pursue new working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively lead projects involving cross-disciplinary teams.

 

 

 What you bring:

 

  • 8-10 years of experience preferred.
  • 5 plus years of experience in Corporate Legal, and/or Compliance Department experience.
  • Corporate governance & Compliance experience required.
  • Experience in technology, including technology commercial contracting preferred.

 

Education:

 

  • Four year degree required or equivalent work experience
